Completed in pen and ink and watercolors, this humorous cartoon print shows us what every so-called hunter tells us. When the great hunter says that he saw nothing...our picture tells us differently. The game is there!!! The hunter just did not see it.
In 1983 I was involved in many art shows - horse racing, hunting, fishing, and other sports shows. "The Hunter" was created for these hunting and fishing shows. My brothers and father are avid hunters. So research was easy. I lived it. They would rise very early, depending on the game of the season, dress in the latest, newest, guaranteed not to be spotted camouflage and travel far away (never letting anyone know their secret spot), and do their thing. Often their thing was to freeze, not see any signs of life, get lost, forget something, and the list could go on and on. And so, into my hunting cartoon are many hidden animals that go undetected by our hunter. Even another hunter is hidden in the picture waving a white flag. In the center of it all is our big buck inhaling the wonderful aroma of the hunter's coffee.
This is a wonderful cartoon print for the sports enthusiast - who has a sense of humor!
